For this piece, I used 612 and made a pinch pot into a mug, then I made three coils to use as handles. Then I fired it and put celadon glaze on most of it and potter's choice glaze on the top so that it would drip down from the top a bit. This wasn't really the case and the red glaze stayed on the top, but I still like the way it turned out and I use it for coffee in the mornings.
For this lidded box, I used 612 for a clay body. I put the slab roller to one of the thinnest settings and cut out the dimensions of the box. Then, I scored and slipped the pieces together and made the lid. After firing it the first time, I put celadon glaze on the whole thing and then put potter's choice glaze on the top portion of the box and the lid. I was hoping for it to come out with nice opposing colors in a bold line.
This set of four is made in low fire white. For each fox, I made a very rough shape of each, then let them dry until they were leather hard. After this, I used a tool to carve each one into the shape of a fox, and for each one I made slightly different. After I fired them, I had three people from our table glaze one how they wanted, and I glazed one myself to try to get an aspect of individuality to each fox.
